oh! I almost forgot to post the answers to the SP5 questionnaire and these pics! Remember when I made the boobholder for someone on Crafster? In return she turned 2 of my old, inappropriately hole-y jeans into skirts. I loove them! Sorry about the bag pictures, for some reason my hub does NOT enjoy taking pictures of my legs for the web...here's my legs, a skirt, and the living room

And here's my chubby knees, the other skirt and the ginormous pile of clean laundry that refuses to be folded.


1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?
Uh, kind of. I'll use Lion Brand, but I hate how Homespun pills up and Cotton ease splits on me, every time. I looove everything I've tried from Knit Picks, so it doesn't have to be pricey to be good but I prefer natural fibers (unless it's a ribbon yarn, or something)

2. Do you spin? Crochet?
I really want to learn how to spin in a little while, but I haven't yet

3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)
Some strong smells really bother me and give me a headache and I'm allergic to like, allergens...pollen but not animals. I hate hate the smell of smoke!
4. How long have you been knitting?
Consistently for about 7 months, but I learned over a year ago

5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
yep, you can search for mine on Amazon using my maiden name (wetherby) and I have a link that I think works on the sidebar
6. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)
hmm...lilac or lavender if light enough...oh and buttercream frosting!
7. Do you have a sweet tooth?
not a sweet tooth--a chocolate tooth! I don't care for candy but I looove dark chocolate and coffe!

8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?
I scrapbook and make altered books, pretty much anything paper related. I'm interested in making more of my own clothes because I got a vintage sewing machine for Christmas and need to get more comfortable with it. I manage a paint-your-own-pottery studio...so I paint pottery a lot and load kilns all day!

9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)
uh, I hope to get an MP3 player for my birthday (next weekend!) but the best bet is a CD

10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can't stand?
I love blues...but soft or deep ones, not bright or garish! My palette, in just about every craft, is mostly sea colors and tones: tan, sand, blue, greens, etc. I also like pale pinks and yellows (not in the nursery way, but in the beautiful flower way, ya know?)

11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?
I'm married (almost a year!) and we have an evil kitty, Andre (as in, the Giant...or as in, 3000)

12. What are your life dreams? (really stretching it here, I know)
I'll have to get back to you--I thought I'd go to grad school and become a French prof. but I also really really want to own my own coffeshop/bookstore...I'm trying to figure out what to do at this stage...what to work on first!

13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?
I like knit picks and recycled silk sari yarn...I also like rowan 'calmer' and 'kidsilk haze'

14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
most acrylics and ALL elyelash yarns!! I'm picky about mohair because I knit a sweater out of some crap that is still all over my house!

15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?
I want to knit some socks...and I'm totally into lace. I'm also working on designing some stuff by adjusting the patterns that I like

16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
hmmm...I don't think I have a favorite (although I've knit several buttonhole bags!) I mainly like to go between big and small projects

17. What are you knitting right now?
A throw for my mom and ...welll, so the previous post, I'm just about to start on something...I just don't know what....


18. What do you think about ponchos?
eh, I can see the usefullness outdoors, but I have a job where my hands and arms have to be totally free (can't have anything get caught in the kilns!)

19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?
circulars, i think


20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
I like Takumi clover needles best (and I found them cheap at Micheals!) but I got a splinter after my cat bit one! so I can see the usefullness in the others!

21. Are you a sock knitter? I hope to be!


22. How did you learn to knit?
Taught myself from the book Knitting Pretty

23. How old is your oldest UFO?
I've been working on legwarmers since Feb, on and off between more important things

24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?
I love birds, pretty little bluebirds or canaries....

25. What is your favorite holiday?
um, Easter, because of what it means to me personally, but also the idea of spring and rebirth
(and my birthday! because I like parties!)
26. Is there anything that you collect?
hmm...interesting question. I, as a newlywed, newly graduated crafty gal lacking funds...I actually collect lots. I love teapots and old pottery (all white and creams!) and fiestaware (oddly enough, I like all the bright stuff here). My kitchen is all red vintagey kitschy stuff....hand embroidered tea towels, French fruit labels. My livning room is kinda shabby chic, with all those white and cream pieces, you can actually see it in the picture above. I have a bunch of botanical prints in my flowery bedroom.
The easiest way to narrow it down: I like stuff for my house: soft, comfortable stuff that looks worn and loved. Other than house stuff, I have a huuuge collection of scrapbook paper and I'm workng on my yarn stash!

27. What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have?
None yet, but I like Interweave Knits best

28. What books do you lust?
Loop d Loop by teva Durham , Yarn Girls Guide to Simple Knits, see my wishlist for others (and there are lots!)
