I'm so excited about Secret Pal! I've heard from my "giver" and contacted my 'receiever". It's gonna be fun!
I've also been spending a lot of time online surfing for info about starting my own bussiness. I've spent so much time in the last year (since I graduated and got married) trying to figure out what I should be doing next. I love my current job, but it's not what I want to be doing in 5 years, it's just an in-between sort of thing. And it's giving me excellent experience managing a small business.
But what I've always wanted to make money doing what I really love--crafts! or a coffee shop! or (to a lesser degree) French. So I got my degree in French, thinking I'd go to grad school and become a French Prof. because I love reading, school and language. And, honestly, it seemed like a more responsible, realistic goal.
But since I've taken this year off school, I've realized that I have the oppurtunity NOW to do what I love....I have no responsibilities or obligations. I don't have to start that big career now, I should take risks and try it out...
So now I'm excited! First step: pick a name and knit up enough original stuff and create enough papercrafts to take to consignment stores. Then, design a website and register my name. Printing up business cards should be in there somewhere, too, eh?

How exciting that you have heard from both your secret pals! I've only talked to the one that I'm sending to.
The business is going to be so much fun. Yes, it is work, but you'll be doing something you love, so you'll be happy! I can't wait to hear more about your shop. Good luck!
How great! I think it is an amazing adventure to embark on your own business! Have fun now, you are right, now is the time! Good luck!
