Loving blonde searching for Next WIP

Ok, I've put off finishing my mom's throw long enough....I keep trying to convince myself of this, at least. My Jedi mind tricks don't work on myself, apparantly (sp?)
So what to start?
**I have the yarn for Kiri, Knit Picks Alpaca Cloud and I want to start it...I just thought I'd be working on it at the beach, and now that we're not going I'm so sad ...I think maybe I should save it for the roadtrip I'm taking with my former roomates at the end of July.
**I have KnitPicks sock yarn that I still need to dye and I don't have small enough needles...so as much as I'm dying (ha, yes, pun intended) to dye that yarn, I should really wait until I can afford the new needles. But OH, how I want to start on socks!
**I have Knit Picks Wool of the Andes that I was going to dye for the Lady Eleanor shawl from Scarf Style, but I'm really rethinking that--would I actually wear it? I mean, I won't often wear the Kiri Shawl, but it'll be classic enough to be worn for years over my dresses. But Lady Eleanor? For what else could I use 800 yds of dye-able wool? I can't believe I don't already have a project in mind! I'll probably save it for my next sweater (hourglass, I believe), which I hope to start in August, so I can actually wear it in the winter....or maybe I'll make a cardigan (I loove cardigans!)
Oh! I just realized I have sock yarn I got in a craftster swap that would be good to practice on--if only I had those needles! hmmm...off to convince the husband!
