I've been really inspired by the recent felty goodness I've been seeing around: Posie has some adorable pens, stockings, and handbags which reminds me of the totes in Alterknits; the adorable toys at Little Birds and Martha's Holiday Issue. So inspired, that after my knitting group this afternoon, I went to two thrift shops looking for wool sweaters to felt and cut.
This blue one was found at the first stop, fully felted! I love that it still has it's buttons!
This gray cabled goodness is huge and will become stockings or an adorable bag (like this one or this one?)
There were so many more feltable sweaters at Goodwill, I was overcome! If you had access to a great stack of brightly felted sweaters, what would you do?

I'd make a big warm blanket. By snipping the sweaters into rough blocks (not square-shaped), and sewing them together such that the edges don't match up into a perfect rectangle but instead retain the personality of a sweater.
I'd be all about making totes for Christmas presents. What great finds!
I have always wanted to do that, but I have got around to trying it... I will look at your blog and see how it turns out for you!
