Pinky Pink

I didn't intend to knit a sweater this pink, nor with this yarn. When it was on sale at Knitpicks over the summer, I was overwhelmed working 2 jobs and ordered 10 skeins for the stash, with the idea of a baby blanket in mind. When it arrived (brighter than I expected), it jumped onto the needles as a top down pullover. I guess I needed something simple, quick and colorful and this definately fit the bill. I knit the bulk of it in 2 weeks during my overemployed time, but put it aside when I figured I'd run out of yarn before finishing the sleeves. In September I noticed some of my handdyed Bananiere matched perfectly and picked up the shinier threads in the sweater. I pulled it downstairs to the couch and finished it (and trimmed all hems) in a week.
It's a prototype for a nicer, fancier-stitched, handdyed yarn sweater I was mulling over. I thought this one would be oversized, lay-around-the house comfy, but it came out a bit smaller and now fits perfectly as a cute (if bright) wear-to-the-movies or dinner-with-Hub. It's so soft, so comfy, it might replace my constant-campanion ratty hoodie as the thing to pull on when spontaneously leaving the house.

Needles: Denise 10.5
Pattern: My own. Basic Top down St st (boat neck=5sts/sleeve) long sleeves. Raglan shaping=inc row every other.
