Color Theory

Project Spectrum has really opened my eyes to colors I don't normally notice.
I'm really happy I've joined the PS Handdyed sock yarn swap. Not only did I receive some beautiful yarn, but I get the chance to try some new dyeing techniques with colors I rarely use.
Spinning has also got me thinking about color and how to plan the colors in yarn so that they knit (or crochet) up in a pleasing manner. Anytime I want to learn about something, I attack my local library, reserving all the books I can find on the subject. Today I got a notice, 10 (!) books are waiting for me at the library, all on color, spininng, and using natural dyes.
I'll talk about the ones that are helpful.
The first book on dyeing I ever actually used is this one:It has several different dyeing methods and a great section on color. I definately recommend it if you plan on doing any dyeing. The only downside, no info on cellulose fibers.

This book is great for anyone, whether you spin or not. It has an extensive section on color theory that just doesn't just explain the basics, but encourages the reader to apply it to their yarn. You know about cool and warm colors, but how about the mood it evokes when you combine cool blues and greens with a warm yellow? This book will tell you!
