During SNL last night I realized I was almost done with Mom Sock #1-Hurrah! I'll try it on...
WTF?!
Even in my sleepy anger I could see that the heel flap is too long and I did something terribly wrong the first row of shortrows...I should have knit across, like, 4 more stitches than I did. DAMN!
The sock is currently in pergatory (on my sidetable in plain veiw of the kittens, in case they want to put it out of misery, but out of my sight) as I know I have to rip back, but I'm not sure if I want to bother reknitting it. ARGH!
I might just knit her other gifts and giver her this pitiful sock as an explanation of why she still doesn't have handknit socks.
IF the superwash sock yarn I ordered comes in the next 2 days, I'll have the time to dye it for her and knit her some picot-edged Jaywalkers...to make up for the stupid mother *(&

I think you're allowed to curse like a sailor after a mistake like that. It's not a bad one so much as the ripping out. That would kick my butt. Poor kid.
If it were me, I'd get a couple of my favorite comedies and begin a do-over. Thus, I'd be laughing too much to cry or even be sad.
