happy cat

"happy cat" used to be a little dance my brother would do when , as a toddler, he was relaxed and happy, it involves rolling your head around and slowly lifting your pointer fingers in the air and then swirling....it's what one does when one discovers the infamous glitter/supernaturale. It's what one does while happily surfing all one's fave sites on a relaxed Monday evening. I use the phrase nowadays because my j calls me his kitten and I purr when happy...like a happy cat!
WARNING: Random non-knittin ramblings follow:
here's a question, does anyone else have a husband or some such that watches wrestling? My j does, which is really un-him...he's a pacifist, vegetarian, has a degree in history and loves nothing more than snuggling (well, that last part is partly true, if the snuggling is preceeding or following something more..erm..active).
Most of my friends and our family think that this weekly habit must really bother me. But really, it doesn't. He is such a sweet, calm, unagressive darling that I don't mind him indulging in this one little testosterone-fest. And it's better than other sports, because he doesn't have to watch every 'game' and there's no pouting because his team lost. I've actually been to two matches of the local wrestlers with him and it was pretty entertaining. Here's a fun visual for ya: last time I went, I took my turquoise mohair sweater with me and knit several inches during the match! I was surely the oddest person there!
Let me clarify: I do have several issues with the way women are portrayed in some of the shows, I definately do NOT think it's appropriate for youngsters, even if the violence is 'fake', and I certainly hope this is something he outgrows. But for now, it's one of those things that makes my j so unique (plus, I spend way more time and money on knitting than he does on any of his hobbies, so I don't feel justified in complaining even if I did hate it)
well, that was an odd little ramble, sparked by my background noise.
Now for the fun: Pictures!
My MIL's finished Mother's Day Throw, all folded up and ready for gifting

My mom's throw folded over my computer chair...about halfway done!

And just for fun, a colorway that I really like for my Lady Eleanor Wrap..I'm going to attempt to achieve these colors with Kool-Aid and Knit-Picks Wool of the Andes when I finish mom's throw.

I kinda like blues and greens, can ya tell?
oh, and Lolly, I don't have any other Decemberists CDs, I just heard about them on NPR a lot recently and bought the CD for my studio (read: because I want to listen to it everyday!). I would like to hear their other stuff (and maybe get it for the studio, if it's soft enough)
