Not my fault

That's right, I'm blaming the library.
Jenny Hart's Sublime Stitching was sitting on the "New Books" shelf and man, I should've seen it coming. 1 day later I was smitten, staying up all until all hours, thinking, dreaming of embroidery designs, planning new projects.
Before I had made a stitch.
The next day, I did, in fact, make a stitch.
Several in fact:
First embroidery..an obsession is born
I made this little sketch as I practiced each of the new stitches. A little patch of flowers, a rain cloud and some stars.
I was so anxious to start I didn't even wait to find embroidery floss, I just used some laceweight Zephyr wool/silk yarn I dyed a few weeks ago. Oh, and that canvas is a vintage tea towel that has a really ridiculous embroidered design on the "front"...I never was going to do anything with it, so I flipped it around (using the blank half) to practice on.
The next day I immediately started on a bigger project, altering a linen skirt I hardly wear (I actually conceived of this project weeks ago, before the embroidery bug bit me), again using laceweigh wool/silk yarn (this time in white)
I chopped off about 2 inches.
I blanket stitched the edges.
Crocheted a lace edging.
and created an abstract design using the yarn and the embroidery floss I finally bought (in cream).
Neutral starburst
I had a finished skirt in less than a week, started on Friday, finished on Tuesday, wore it on Thursday!
Pictures of it on me tomorrow!
