Mom's handspun scarf

Remember the alpaca I dyed and spun?

After trying quite a few stitch patterns, I went with the simple Multi-directional scarf.

The pattern has historical relevance for my Mom and I, as it was the 2nd knitted item I gave her (probably 3rd I ever made.) Yarn: Handspun Baby Alpaca (from MDS&W), dyed by me plied with handspun silk hankies
and a bit of Merino/Alpaca blend plied with the same silk hankies
Needles: US 10.5
Pattern: (see above)
For: Mom's Birthday!
(PS. I'm pretty proud of those pictures, click to make them bigger and really get a feel for the texture!)
