oooh, I'm trying not to join this. You think agreeing to blog everyday would deter me, but no, I really do want to knit a sweater this month too (on top of Christmas knitting? Am I crazy?) but I'm still thinking it over (while checking the stash for a sweater's amount of yarn...)
Anyhow, my work-in-progress today is the alpaca I'm dyeing.
It's 3 oz of luscious Baby Alpaca that my mom purchased at MDS&W. I plan on making a light worsted weight 2 ply and giving it to her for Christmas.
Hoping for a Noro-esque yarn, I dyed long strips of color (each color is the length of my kitchen table). When I spin it, I'll split the roving in half, lengthwise and spin one bobbin from each strip. Then I'll ply the two together, which should match up the colors. It's ok if the colors don't match up perfectly, I hope it will slowly shift from one solid color section to the next. My mom is a big Noro fan, mainly because of this shifty stripeyness.

The fiber's drying now, I hope to have at least half of it spun by next Friday!

Good luck with your dyeing. I can't wait to see how it turns out after you spin it. :)

Ditto -- I love seeing how everyone's methods differ, dyeing-wise, and then how it turns out when spun!
