Thanksgiving journey

The first 2 years of our marriage, Hub and I lived in Ohio, near both of our parents. Beacause of this proximity, we stuck close to home for the holidays and spent them with my family.
Why not with his? Because his parents always drove down to Tennessee, to see their families for the holidays.

Now that we live down here: 3 doors down from a cousin, a mere 2 minutes from at least 5 aunts and uncles, I insist we spend Thanksgiving weekend and Christmas day with his parents.
Easier said than done.
They drove down yesterday and stayed last night in Gatlinburg (about 2 hours from us), so we drove over after work and had dinner at The Apple Barn (the only thing I like about the tourist-attraction that is Gatlinburg).
Today they drove down to Hub's paternal grandparents, to spend Thanksgiving Day there. So, tomorrow morning we're driving the 3 hours down there to have dinner and stay Thursday night.
Friday, his parents are coming here to have a Friday night Thanksgiving Buffet with Hub's maternal family. Which we would be doing too, except Hub has to work Friday night. And Saturday morning. His parents are leaving Saturday morning, which means that after alll this family tag-playing, we'll have had seen them for approximately 10 hours, after driving a total of 10 hours. And they'll actually be in the town we live in for 24 hours. Hmmm
But that's not all!
Since Hub will be at work the rest of the weekend, I plan on either going to see my grandmother in Cookeville (3 hours) or my friend's family in North Carolina (3 hours) until Sunday night.
Whew!
Here's hoping your Thanksgiving plans require a little less mapping.
