New Job Ramblings...

Well, I (finally) got a job, unfortunately it's a "temp" but with the understanding that after they audit the position (meaning: upgrade!) I'll take it permanently. It's not the awesome position I really wanted, but they still haven't called anyone for interviews, and dammit, I need some employment!
The weird thing about any new job is that during training, watching someone else do it, it all seems so simple: "Ah! when those come in, I do that to them; When she asks this, I'll email that". And then, when you're alone, nothing makes any sense! I'm in training this week, Friday's the first day alone, but I already feel like I've "got it" and I'm bored shadowing someone all day. However, I'm still absorbing a lot: office politics, the "flow" of paperwork, the guidelines and mores of this particular office, the personalities. Last night all my dreams centered on work (except the one about a children's book about Elizabeth Zimmerman, more on that another day) and I very rarely dream, so I know I must be processing a lot.
Looking foward to an evening with my knitting (designing a baby project for For The Love of Yarn) and a night of good TV (Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars).
