A weekend, in the middle of the week

My mom came down to visit last Friday and we had a lovely weekend.
We checked out historic Jonesboro.
It was having a Quiltfest, which we enjoyed...but the town really needs a yarn shop!
We also made some yarn

out of lots of single balls of my handpainted yarn. She plans to make me a shawl out of it. (by the way, I suggest getting rid of your yarn this way-even better is someone else knits it up for you!)

We went to Yarntiques, several roadside veggie stands and made a lunch of fresh corn, fried green tomotoes and fresh biscuits with local honey-a very southern meal!
