Heat

Yes, it's hot outside. But the discomfort of some humitity is nothing in comparison with the total pain of a cat in heat. Stella has done very little other than merowl and cry and sleep. We had hoped to get her spayed before she went into heat, but with all the upheavel of the past few months, that didn't happen.
My knitter heart went out to her (I certainly can understand the confusion of adolescence!) and wanted to help comfort her. Especially because, in order to get a good night's rest (and because it's the responsible thing to do), she has an appointment tomorrow morning. I know the surgery is pretty invasive and she'll be uncomfortable for several days, so I decided NOW was time to make the Kitty Pi I've been meaning to make.

It just so happened I had some Project Spectrum-y yarn that would work perfectly.

I cast on yesturday afternoon, and 24 hours later it looks like this:
I decided this was also an excellent way to use my handspun, since felting would take care of all thos inconsistencies. Also, Stella loves my handspun, I think she can smell me, or maybe the sheep since it's not so processed?

So far, so good, everytime I lay it down, she snuggles up to it
(perhaps because she's snuggling up to everything, looking for lovin'?)
I hope to throw it in the wash tonight and have it all dried and ready to go by the time we pick her up tomorrow night.

Send her some good kitty vibes!

PS. Everytime I used Stella's name, the link leads to my favorite pictures of her, don't click them unless you're prepared to be all gushy over her kitten-ness!

BTW, I received the Seda De Soya. It's gorgeous! I can't wait to knit with it.
