Still a joiner

It's time I come clean and 'fess up to my full summer of knittin' along!
There's always the Amazing Lace and Project Spectrum, but I've added some more to my roster for some summer lovin'.

June 1rst officially kicked off the Summer Reading Challenge which has a fun forum to keep me accountable. I commited to reading 2 books/month: at least 1 fiction/month (I read a lot of non-fiction that's business/knitting related) uh, I just noticed I commited to 4 (!) books a month, 2 non-fiction, 2 fiction...and here I thought I was ahead!.
I started out the month by reading The DaVinci Code and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. I have opinions, but not the clarity of mind to write it all out currently, if you're interested, let me know and I'll put a little review together of the books I'm reading.

Although it hasn't started yet, I'm excited about the Summer of Socks. I've got my yarn picked out (my Dye-o-rama yarn) and a pattern or two in mind. I'll be casting on June 21rst*, but honestly the real reason for my excitement is that this will be the first thing my soon-to-be business, Blonde Chicken Boutique, will be sponsoring. So join, and be entered to win an excellent prize package (if I do say so myself).

*just an odd little note: 6/21 is both my father's birthday and the longest day of the year

Good for you - committing to read more. I just finished Undead and Unemployed by MaryJanice Davidson - a light mystery story revovling around vampires. Light and fun for summer.

There is a list of what I have read this year in the side bar on my blog if you are looking for inspiration.
