The thing about working in a knitting shop, and starting a knitting-based biz is that I have to knit.
And while in theory that sounds fantastic (and it mostly is) it means I have to focus on the monstrosity, working out patterns for the Sampler yarn, and the secret design.
All I really want to do is follow my flights of flancy, knitting hundreds of log-cabin squares, like this. Or perhaps I'd take up crochet and make this out of the beautiful Cash Iroha that just came in, or this hat (but not quite so tall), or the skirt I've been planning (single crochet body out of black CottonEase with recycled silk knit ruffles).
Or more time on socks, or lace shawls, or really, anything that strikes my fancy-the very moment my fancy is stricken.
*le sigh*
You know what? I'm going to do something neither business-like, nor selfish, I'm going to knit some squares for Warming Grace (which I've been meaning to do forever...and have been feeling guilty over) and tomorrow, if the Cash Iroha is still there, I'm buying it and crocheting my weekend away!

When you have to do something, you don't want to do it. It's when you don't have to do it that you want to! I totally understand! I test knit for a local shop, sometimes when I'm asked I feel like cringing, then running away screaming "I wanna finish my stuff!"
