After months of working on the Jaywalkers...they are finally finished!
It's actually pretty odd, because the first one took several months but I finished the second one in just 2 weeks of working on it while watching TV or riding in the car.
I think I finally found my sock knitting flow. I was just fighting it before, struggling against the innate sockiness (ie. tiny needles, tiny yarn, tiny muscle movements) but when I finally gave in and let the sockiness (this is a technical term, people) take over, it just happened.
Pattern: The infamous Jaywalkers (if you don't know about the Jaywalkers, perhaps you should scroll through this Knit-a-long list-wow!)
Yarn: my own handpainted Knit Picks Color Your Own
Needles: on the first one: US3, on the second US2. The second (slightly smaller) sock fits much better, but I love them both so much!
I (finally) feel like a sock knitter, although this is my 2nd pair of real socks, and I've knit 2 pairs of sock/slippers (big socks knit with thick yarn then felted down to foot size). I love the sock-knitting feeling that I imediately cast on for another pair of slippers for my Mom (she's already worn through the ones I gave her in January) in some handpainted worsted weight yarn. I have the Project Spectrum handdyed yarn from Jennifer sent me which I believe will be the next sock for me...perhaps Wendy's toe-up pattern?
Another finally...Hub finally learned that when I'm having cramps, funny chocolate is all it takes to turn my night around.
Look! It's a chocolate bar with sheepies on it!
Yum
Finally!
