Well, it's gotten to that point. My knitting, blogging, dyeing (notice the 'e'), and 'real' life have converged, and I need your help.
I've been planning, scheming and hoping for my own business for, oh, my whole crafty life. I chose the name last summer and have since filed the papers, made the budgets and researched the 'market'. Last week, I got the paper (from the IRS) stating Blonde Chicken Boutique actually exists. You know I've been handpainting for Knittique , which was definately being in business (in that I made money) but now it's getting more and more REAL. The website template is made, my name is registered and my yarn is actually for sale in a REAL store (the link above takes you to the LYS site and pictures of the yarn).
That's all very exciting (and freaking ridiculously scary) but now that I'm in the process of setting up wholesale accounts with yarn manufacturers , it's time I decide on what fibers and weights the online shop will carry, and before I do this, I wanted a little feedback. There is A LOT of great handpainted yarn out there, and I want to provide something that knitters really need, want and are looking for. I have my ideas of what that might be, but hey, all knitters have their own preferences and their own ideas of value and quality and I'd like to tap into those differing views.
I'm putting together a little questionnaire to find out this kind of info and I need you! If you'd like to help out, please email me at blondechickenyarn AT yahoo DOT com and I'll send along a couple of quesitons about your preferences. If you have any ideas about yarns you have trouble finding or colors you adore, but want to be anti-establishment and not answer questions-drop me a line and let me know!
In which I ask you to opine...

I'm there for yah chica! :) I think it's sooooo exciting! You can always send me something to test knit too!
Something I almost never see is a true, worsted weight, multi-ply handpainted yarn. You know, like Henry's Attic Kona 100% Merino, but worsted weight.
The yarn is so pretty! Thanks so much - and the chocolate is mine, all mine, get back, mine, mine, I say!
:D
