Yes, again with the ennui (French for "eh, boredom" but it doesn't really translate...since the French can be all 'eh' in a totally more sophisticated way than whinybaby-I-want-my-MTV-American boredom...so yeah, I'm the sophisticated bored.)
I've been working on my Mom's sock on and off, but damn, if I don't hate it. The sock looks fine, and I'm happy with my stitch pattern. But the stupid yarn (Cotton/Wool/Nylon blend Sockotta) feels like string. unpleasant string. and the needles (Bryspun, plasticy un-pointy toothpicks). eh. When I knit these socks, my fingers get cold and where the yarn feeds through my fingers, it gets roughed up. I'm seriously thinking of giving up (at least for now). Maybe I'll dye her some self-striping yarn. Hmmm.
And then this Noro cardigan I'm designing: how much math does one top-down raglan shawl-collared (sp?) cardigan take? No matter how much I do, I keep finding more....or, more honestly, finding that I've done the previous maths all wrong. Bleh
Or rather, eh.
PS. I would be remiss if I didn't take the time to extol the Jaywaler. I love it and it is good to me. The yarn is sweetly striping and the pattern flies along. There might be a finished sock by Friday (especially if I keep knitting at work)
