still thinking about the shawl...

Thank you so much for your comments and suggestions on what yarn or pattern to use for my friend's shawl. I had her fiance come over yesturday and look at yarn colors. I had pretty much narrowed it down to Zephyr or KnitPicks Alpaca Cloud or Ambrosia...and he helped me pick out some colors. But I'm still just unsure about the pattern. The one he liked best was the Perfect Pie Shawl from Weekend Knitting, but the pattern calls for a mohair blend. I've never been afraid of substituting yarn before, but I'm wondering if this pattern will look okay in a less fuzzy yarn. I also like Andean Silk because it has the drape of silk with the fuzzy-ness of alpaca and some wool thrown in for elasticity. But, alas, it's worsted weight...do I want to knit a shawl in worsted weight?
Also, does anyone have any suggestions about using a cashmere blend in a shawl? Will it stretch out funny? I've never worked with cashmere and don't want to be suprised by the finished product.
