First thing: Observe Autumnal Rose on her new happy owner (my mom).
Since I've finished that sweater, my life has gone downhill...Monday I had to report to jury duty and sat in a courtroom..AAAALL day-ick! All I had to knit was the strap for my Lion Brand design...and it was too boring to entertain me. I did get some good reading done on Yellow Jack-the book of choice for this month's K1, Read too. I haven't decided how I feel about it, I don't think I would have chosen it on my own-but I don't hate it.
On the knitting front: I've swatched several different laces for Sam's Shawl (also ordered the yarn, should be here Monday from yarnmarket.com), about one a night, and not until last night did I finally decide on something...which is, ironically, 2 pages after the Perfect Pie Shawl in Weekend Knitting-- the lace from the Cowl and Camisole.
Another exciting discovery I made yesturday: This book-
See the author? Kaffe Fasset loves mosaics-and this book was at the pottery studio, I had just never seen it! Here are my favorite projects:
This is next to to Kaffe's front door-beautiful!
And the bright spot in my week:
Andre hasn't decided what to call his kitten yet
Maybe Stella?

I am in awe of your talent, as always. I still can only knit scarfs and squares.
I loved the mosaics too. One cheaper and easy way to make one is to find a bunch of small rocks (driveway, garden, etc.) sort them into different sizes and then paint them for whatever your design might be.
Love the kitten - I have 2 grown ones of my own. Lots of resources online for names... but I will suggest a favorite that I haven't been able to use because I have boys: Zelda (after Zelda Fitzgerald). This name is only good for spunky kitties though! Have fun!
Tara, your mom's sweater looks wonderful! I know she's going to love wearing it. I love the color you chose, very bright and cheery. Mosaics, I can't pick something else up, but the photos look fabu!!!
