I'm not the first to say it...but I can't believe it's already October! I knit more in September (my knitting aniversary month!) than I think I ever have! Or at least I had more FOs last month.
Let's recap:
7 squares for a Katrina Relief Blanket (week of 9/1)
False Flame socks from Vogue's Socks, Socks, Socks (CO: 8/29, BO:9/11)
2 Bookcovers for Lion Brand (the week of 9/11)
Armwarmers from Weekend Knitting (CO 9/17, BO 9/18)
Mom's Autumn Rose Sweater (CO: 9/9, BO: 10/02)
I started another pattern for Lion Brand (for a shoulder bag) during September and I've been working on it in movies and during shows I'm really into (all St st, perfect mindless knitting!)
Now that I'm done with the sweater and the purse design is too boring to take up prime knitting time (ie. when my husband watches wrestling)-I have to get my knitting priorities straight before Christmas gets here...
if you're my friend in real life (ie. you might receive a gift from me for Christmas) DO NOT read further!!
1>Due Oct 24th: Sam's wedding shawl--I've decided on a modified (of course!) Pie Shawl (like the one from Weekend Knitting) with a lace stitch (instead of the airy rib) in either Douceur et Soie or Zephyr...yes, I'm buying both...because all this talk of shawl knitting has got me wanting one! I'm just waiting for the yarn to get here!
2>2nd purse design using Lion Suede and (ick) Fun Fur.
3>Josephine for Rissa, as soon as she sends me the yarn (but in between projects that have due dates)
4>Swatch for possible KnitPicks design in Elegance (similar to the falling leaf cardigan I made in Cotton-Ease)
5>Christmas gifts! (I've arranged them in order of sure-ness. For example, I am positive that I'm making the first thing I list, but the chances for the stuff lower down is pretty slim)
-Silk Sari bag for Jamie (shouldn't take more than week, already have the yarn)
-Fingerless gloves for the 3 roomates (using orange sock yarn for Al, Sierra for Rissa, some black for Linds)
-Hat or fingerless gloves for FIL, in his teams colors.
-Something for Mom, Grams, MIL? Still looking for ideas for them...the three hardest people in our lives to shop for...of course, we go with a non-knitted item for one or all of 'em, they DID get gi-normous throws for Mother's Day!
-My lil bros (5 &6) have requested socks, but I know this won't excite them (and frankly, it doesn't excite me either) but maybe I'll make some fun mittens? Have I ever knitted mittens before?
6>Hot Lava Cardigan (see sidebar for link) which I want to knit right now!
Thanks for bearing with me while I prioritize. What are ya'll knitting for Christmas gifts?
The busiest of months...
