My first finished sock!

It fits so well, but I had to make it sooo much longer than the pattern because I have ginormous feet. And here it is, on the web: my ginormous foot and my lack of an ankle. Don't laugh, it's very sad. Luckily my foot (and non-exsistant (sp?) ankle) is cheered by the faboulous stripey-ness of the "Flaming Sock", as it will now be known.

On a less silly note,
Go here to find out how you can craft and help raise money for the victims of Katrina. I'll be posting more sites as I find them, because I have no money to help with this, but plenty of yarn and geesh, I can't do nothing. This tragedy has really impacted me more than I expected since hub and I visited New Orleans and Mississippi on a class trip (the summer we got engaged) and fell in love with it.

Your sock looks great! Thanks for the link. I'm so happy to see what I can do for New Orleans using what I already have. This is the season for walk-a-thons and charitable drives at work. . .we too are just about spent as far as money goes.

I just happened to stumble across your blog. I love to knit (but can ONLY knit scarfs!) and am an artist, so I feel that I can already semi-identify with you.
Thanks so much for your efforts in trying to raise awareness/money/donations for the hurricane affected areas. I grew up on the Louisiana/ Mississippi border. My parents still live there, and miraculously, their house survived. The area is devastated. A good website to visit for detailed information on the area is www.wwltv.com the local news for the Louisiana area.
Thank you again and God Bless.
