From the knitting trenches (known as the movie theater)

After much thought and too much math, my self-designed cardigan is coming right along. I started on the lace part last night while, get this, watching wrestling live. Yes, Hub's b-day is coming up and watching wrestling, in good seats, was part of his gift. At least we had real seats this time, when we went in February we sat on cold bleachers and I knit a big blue mohair sweater, ick. So, with hundreds of sweaty, balding, chubby men yelling at several sweaty but un-chubby wrestlers all around me: I started the lace pattern on my cardigan. Risky, yes, but entertaining (watching others throw people around isn't really my idea of entertainment, but lace knitting: yes, definately). I'll have enough to warrant a picture by the end of this weekend, I hope.
Well, I will if I stop working on my mom's sweater, which I cast on for today. It's not really like me to interrupt one project (at least one that's going well) with another, but we took my little brothers to see March of the Penguins tonight and I didn't think I could focus on the lace in the theater.
*actually, the theater was all lit up from all the snow on screen and frankly, the movie was pretty boring. My littlest brother (4yrs old) wasn't suprised and said when we left " well, that wasnt so bad"*
So anyways I cast on for the sweater my mom has commisioned. We bought the yarn on Wednesday: Di.Ve Fiamma Color #18592. It's a beautiful thick/thin 100% wool (I got some in a different color for my b-day but haven't done anything with it yet) in fall-ish colors.
Here's a picture of it:

I've knit about 3 inches into the back of the sweater (a quick knit on US13s) and JUST realised I'm about 2 stitches short. I must have dropped them in the theater. Erg. I hate to rip it all out. Erg. I don't see that I have a choice so I'm blogging with it next to me,hoping that I'll feel less bad about it if I focus on the wonderful-ness of my cardigan. Perhaps I'll knit that now and hide the offensive sweater back. Yes...excellent plan...

that yarn is gorgeous. I'll have to see if I can find it anywhere.
