Ok, I tried to post a coupla times and Blogger hates me. Grrr.
So I have a confession-I'm having a love affair. I'm cheating on my great love. It's really more like returning to my first love.
Yes, I love paper. As much as yarn. Scary, no?
It all started...uh, well as soon as I was old enough to have one of those books you fill up with stickers. Then in High School, my best friend and I collaged notebooks with magazine clippings (we past these notebooks back and forth in between classes and filled up over 10 in 4 years). I started scrapbooking in college, even worked at a Scrapbook store my senior year.
The addiction to paper is strong. Since taking up knitting, my forays into that obsession have become less frequent. That is, until I started reading Somerset Studio. It's the most inspiring thing I've read in a long time, for any craft.
So since then, I've started an art journal, inspiried by the work of sabrina ward harrison and the book The Decorated Page, by Gwen Diehn. I'm also planning an altered book, using an old book of French poetry.
I just thought I should admit to my other obsession, as I'm going to start posting pictures here of my creations.
Oh, and I don't want to forget mentioning the GREAT gift my Secret Pal sent me-exactly what I needed after a rough day on my feet--a foot spa kit! Thanks Secret Pal!
My other love

That's really cool! I can't wait to see some of your creations. I've always been interested in paper crafts, but from a distance. Meanwhile, I have two photo albums to do for myself. I made wedding albums and an album of myself growing up for parents and grandparents for christmas last year, but never got around to making them for myself! I have the albums and the photos ready; I just need to do it!
Dear Fellow Crafter,
I too share with you a first love of paper although I do indulge in crocheting and I've just started knitting about a week or two ago. Paper has always made me feel excited and I as I think of the countless uses for it, it becomes even more invaluable. Currently I am scrapbooking a mini book for my niece's first birthday, at the same time I am reconstructing a vintage ghost busters t-shirt into a cami, and working on crochet blocks for a blanket my brother, sister, and I are collaborating on for our grandma. It's just really great to see that others get so excited over the same things I do. Just when you think you're the only one....
