When I'm not blogging....

my stash, now organized in two big hat boxes (you can't tell but both boxes have 2-3 layers) The cream stuff outsied the box, at the top of the pic is recycled from a sweater, waiting to be dyed, the cream and maroon at the bottom is the first yarn I ever bought...cheap Red Heart that I hate!

My second buttonhole bag! made from kool-aid dyed recycled from a sweater yarn, with a seed stitch borer--this bag is so quick I might spend my summer making one for everyone!
I'm finding it very hard to resist buying this yarn from the creater of Unbiased. Yes, I have some recycled silk-sari yarn, but it's not going to be enough for the bag (why did I think it would be?) and it was very expensive in comparison with what I can get it for from this website! And they're giving away a free 6th skein when you buy 5! Oh the temptation! I'm going to need to start a section on the side for all the yarn I'm dying to buy from websites!
oh, NOTE: I changed my to do list, since I've now knit 2 Buttonhole bags and have found thousands of other things to knit! I'm splitting it up into things I can knit imediately (ie. I have yarn for it) and things that are just wishes (ie. i have to convince my husband that I NEED more yarn)

You are a bad influence! OMG.. That silk yarn is amazing and at such a great price! I really want to find a pattern for that yarn. Unbiased is nice, but it's too big for me. It's just not quite 'me'. Hmmm.. I'm gonna have to think on this.

Bad! (smacks hand) Bad!

Oh wait a minute, you dyed that yarn yourself? The color looks so uniform and beautiful! Your bag turned out so cute and the perfect color! I love it!!

Wow! You're back! I LOVE that blue!
Question: How does one "set" the koolaid dye to preserve it's color? I keep hearing about how it fades or washes out.
