Heideknit was kind enough (despite my misspelling her name) to play Barbara Walters with me and pose some hard-hitting questions and I'd love to do the same to you (the, like, two of you who know this exists). Here's what ya do:
1. Leave me a comment saying “interview me.”
2. I will respond by asking you five questions here. They will be different questions than the ones below.
3. You will update YOUR blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions
And here are her questions and my answers:
1. I see that you have a brand spanking new knitblog. How did you get turned onto knitblogs? What made you decide to start one of your own? Well, I actually got turned onto the whole online knitting community by Stitch N Bitch and the magazine Bust. I had an online journal for 4 years (here) and so the idea wasn't foreign to me (there's actually a whole story behind my starting that and it involves my then-friend-only, now-husband and his online poetry, pretty addorable). After knitting for a while and finding ten hundred patterns and websites and other knitblogs that I like to frequent, I just decided this would be a good forum to organize all my thoughts (and pictures and websites) in.
2. What are your favorite hair products, and why? Are you a salon-products-only kind of gal, or will you buy shampoo on sale at the grocery store? It's interesting you should ask. While in college (and living with 3 girls who swear by $20 shampoo) I used only V05, kiwi lime shampoo (97 cents!) and no other hair products. Then I got a free sample of Suave and I'm hooked! But still, at $3ish it can hardly be considered pricey! Since my hair's just stick strait in a simple bob, there's not a lot to be done with it or products.
3. Did you finish your hoodie in time to wear for Easter today or were in a Creme Egg-induced coma and unable to finish up? oh, the sadness....because my weekend knitting time was interuppted by actually visiting with family...I did not finish it *sob*...but tonight I finished the second sleeve...all that's left is sewing up and the 13 inches for the hood.
4. You manage a paint-your-own pottery joint... Do people ever turn out decent pieces?? What's the most hideous crappy paint-job you've seen there, and do you make fun of ugly pieces when you're loading and unloading the kiln? Hmmm, yes, some people (mostly older women and 20 yr olds) make some awesome things. One girl (initials KJZ) always painted the most intricate, amazing pieces but she painted when I didn't work, so I only knew her by her pieces with her initials. I met her friend (who was picking up a piece KJZ made as a gift for her) who told me KJZ had recently moved. I was crushed. You can probably guess by my attachment to this one painter that most pieces are hideously wretched. And, of course we laugh and mock! But please, remember that over 1/2 of our customers are under the age of 10 and the other half are uptight, too rich homemakers, not really the relaxed, expressive, artistic types. (ok, so I'm guessing, we don't really keep track of that kind of thing)
5. Did you know that your fair city of Dayton, OH is home to the last remaining clover-leaf traffic circle thing in the US? What else is unique about Dayton, and what are your favorite things about living in Dayton? wow, I didn't know it was the last one, but I do know it's dangerous (and fun!) I'm actually kind of sad to hear it's the last one, because they're rebuilding that area and changing the exit--which, in case you care, is the "Crossroads of America"-where I75 (goes from Michigan to Florida) intersects I70 (goes from East to West Coast).
I can't believe you have to ask about the Gem City's greatness--hell-oo, the Birthplace of Flight! That's right Orville and Wilber Wright were born in Dayton, OH! I hope you know who they are because my entire elementary education centered around the two brother who owned a bicycle repair store (i've been there!) and discovered (created?) the first flying machine! and DAMN IT! They took it to Kittyhawk,NC for their first flight, robbing us of that priveledge! *end of sarcasm (for now)*
As for favorite things about Dayton...hmmm...well, we definately have 4 distinct seasons and there's ...uh... well, my husband lives here with me, and that makes it bearable!
Fade to white, end of interview, now's the time for Barbara's voice over....
the long-awaited Barbara Walters special with...me!

lol.. that is too funny! I didn't know the Wright brothers were from dayton! Ya learn something new everyday. :) I have no idea what the clover traffic thing is, so I'm gonna have to look that one up.
I tried to check out your other blog, but their server is down atm.
I don't know if I'm interesting enough to interview, but you can interview me if you'd like.
I'd love to see some of Your clay works. Are there photos on your other site of them?
The Wright Brothers... I think I've heard of them, the name seems to ring a bell. Orville Wright has a line of microwave popcorn or something, right? :)
Heide-HA! don't tell dayton that!
Autoria-my painting stuff isn't too exciting and i hardly ever take pics (as I really only do it for work) but I'll post what I have. I'd love to interview you, give me a day to come up with some good questions
Did you get the buttons to work? That's a redundant question, I don't see them on yer blog!
And PUHHHHLEASE, let me KNOW you linked me so I CAN LINK YOU BACK! I'm all about the reciprocal linkage!!!!
As of tomorrow I'll have you on my side bar!!! just not tonight, I'm about to pass out!
Hey Tara, the pattern for the Shawl-collared pullover is in the winter issue of Vogue. Since the new vogues are just not hitting the stands, maybe you can still find it somewhere. If not, PM me on craftster.
Oops.. I fogot to ask. What are your favorite patterns from the new vogue. I'm planning on some major SEX this weekend in Houston, so I need to get a pattern arsenal up. That way I won't kick myself for not buying enough yarn for a certain pattern!
